296 JOINT RESOLUTIONS

WHEREAS, By the terms of Joint Resolution 30 of 1959 (House
Joint Resolution 7), a special Commission was designated to study
the general insurance laws of the State; and

WHEREAS, The Commission has organized with Hon. Joseph D.
Tydings as Chairman, and has formed three general subcommittees
for its study of the insurance laws; and

WHEREAS, The Commission estimates the duration of its schedule
of study to be as follows:

1. July, August and September, 1959.
Organization of the study.

2. October 1959 through December 1960.

Actual revision by subcommittees of the Commission.

3. January 1961 through April 1961.
Public hearings.

4. May and June 1961.

Final revisions subsequent to public hearings.

5. Summer, 1961.
Report to Legislative Council.

6. 1962.

Report to General Assembly; and

WHEREAS, The terms of Joint Resolutions require the Commission
to report to the Legislative Council on or before October 1, 1960, and
to the General Assembly of 1961, and it is desirable to change these
dates in view of the schedule of the Committee set out above to ex-
tend its duration; now, therefore, be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the duration
of the Commission appointed under Joint Resolution 30 of 1959 is
hereby extended and it is authorized to report to the Legislative
Council and to the General Assembly on the dates specified herein;
and

Be it further resolved, That copies of this Resolution are sent to
the Governor of Maryland, the Chairman of the Legislative Council
and the Chairman of the Commission on Insurance Laws.
