(b) Any facsimile seal, or any reproduction of it, of this State or
any of its departments, agencies, public bodies, or other instrumen-
talities or of any of its political subdivisions is guilty of a felony and
shall be punishable by a fine of not to exceed five thousand dollars,
or by imprisonment for not to exceed one year,
TEN YEARS, or by
both such fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the court.

16. Uniformity of Interpretation. This sub-title shall be so con-
strued as to effectuate its general purpose to make uniform the law
of those states which enact it.

17. Short Title. This sub-title may be cited as the Uniform
Facsimile Signature of Public Officials Act.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That if any provision of this
Act or the application thereof to any person or circumstance is held
invalid, the invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications
of the Act which can be given effect without the invalid provision or
application, and to this end the provisions of this Act are severable.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That all Acts or parts of Acts
inconsistent with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed to
the extent of any such inconsistency.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1960.

CHAPTER 113
(Senate Bill 38)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 249 (b)
of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Public Education", sub-title "Chapter 26. University of
Maryland", to change the length of term for future members of the
Board of Regents of the University of Maryland and to provide a
limitation on the number of terms served by said members, and
relating generally to the Board of Regents of the University of
Maryland.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 249 (b) of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition), title "Public Education", sub-title "Chapter 26.
University of Maryland", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

249.

(b) Composition, compensation, terms and vacancies. —The gov-
ernment of the University of Maryland shall be vested in the Board
