AN ACT to repeal Section 1 of Article 101 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1956 Supplement), title "Workmen's Compensa-
tion", sub-title "State Industrial Accident Commission", and to
enact a new Section 1 in lieu thereof; to repeal and re-enact, with
amendments, Section 2 of said Article and sub-title (1956 Supple-
ment); to change the name of said sub-title, the same to be in the
future "Workmen's Compensation Commission"; to repeal and
re-enact, with amendments, Sections 3 and 5 of said Article and
sub-title (1951 Edition), abolishing the present State Industrial
Accident Commission, providing that it shall be replaced by the
Workmen's Compensation Commission, relating to the member-
ship, appointment, salary, tenure, powers and duties of the said
Workmen's Compensation Commission, and relating generally to
the administration and conduct of the workmen's compensation
laws in this state.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 1 of Article 101 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1956 Supplement), title "Workmen's Compensation", sub-title
"State Industrial Accident Commission", be and it is hereby repealed
and a new Section 1 be and it is hereby enacted in lieu thereof; that
Section 2 of said Article and sub-title (1956 Supplement), be and it
is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments; that Sections
3 and 5 of said Article and sub-title (1951 Edition), be and they are
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, and all to read
as follows:

Workmen's Compensation Commission
1. (a) The State Industrial Accident Commission is hereby abol-
ished, and the Workmen's Compensation Commission is created and
established in its place, to be in all respect the successor to the rights,
powers and duties of the Industrial Accident Commission.
(b) The Workmen's Compensation Commission, hereinafter re-
ferred to as the Commission, shall be composed of five members, of
whom one shall be chairman and four shall be associate commis-
sioners, all of whom shall be appointed by the Governor. The initial
appointments shall date from June 1, 1957, and be for periods of
