THAT SECTION 235 OF SAID ARTICLE AND SUB-TITLE BE
AND IT IS HEREBY REPEALED AND THAT A NEW SECTION
235 BE AND IT IS HEREBY ENACTED IN LIEU THEREOF TO
STAND IN THE PLACE OF THE SECTION SO REPEALED,
AND ALL TO READ AS FOLLOWS:

234. (a) The annual salaries of the Supervisors of Assessments
in the several counties and the Director of the Department of Assess-
ments in Baltimore City
shall be determined by the classification of
the respective counties and Baltimore City [as established by the
State Tax Commission] and in accordance with schedules of com-
pensation as herein set forth for each such classification.

(b) In consideration of the assessable base, number of accounts,
assessable base per
assessor, accounts per assessor and average as-
sessment within each of the respective political sub divisions, the
several counties and Baltimore City are designated and classified as
follows:

Class ABaltimore City, Baltimore County
Class B
Montgomery and Prince George's counties
Class C
Allegany, Anne Arundel, Carroll, Frederick, Harford,

Washington and Wicomico counties
Calvert, Caroline, Cecil, Charles, Dorchester, Garrett,
Kent, Queen Anne's, St. Mary's, Somerset, and Worcester counties

(B) SUPERVISORS OF ASSESSMENTS IN THE SEVERAL
COUNTIES, INCLUDING THE DIRECTOR OF THE DEPART-
MENT OF ASSESSMENTS IN BALTIMORE CITY, SHALL BE
CLASSIFIED AS FOLLOWS:

CLASS A—BALTIMORE CITY

CLASS B—BALTIMORE, MONTGOMERY AND PRINCE
GEORGE'S COUNTIES.

CLASS C—ALLEGANY, ANNE ARUNDEL AND HARFORD
COUNTIES.

CLASS D—CARROLL, FREDERICK AND WICOMICO COUN-
TIES.

CLASS E—CALVERT, CAROLINE, CECIL, CHARLES, DOR-
CHESTER, GARRETT, HOWARD, KENT, QUEEN ANNE'S, ST.
MARY'S, SOMERSET, TALBOT, WASHINGTON AND WORCES-
TER COUNTIES.

(c) Classifications and schedules.—The following classifications
and their respective schedules prescribing minimum and maximum
rates with automatic increases from minimum to maximum, at the
rate of 20% each year for a period of five years are hereby estab-
lished and shall apply to the supervisors of assessments of the several
counties and the Director of the Department of Assessments of Bal-
timore City:

that Sub-sections (d), (f), and (g) of Section 235 of said Article and
sub title be and they are hereby repealed and that new Sub-sections

(d), (f) and (g) be and they are hereby enacted in lieu thereof, to

stand in the place of the sub sections so repealed, and that Sub sec-

tion 235 (c) thereof be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, and all to read as follows:
