(House Bill 1)

AN ACT to repeal Sub-Sections (b), (e), (f), (g), (h), and (i) of
Section 234 of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951
Edition and 1956 Supplement), title "Revenue and Taxes", sub-title
"State Tax Commission"; to repeal and re-enact with amendments
Sub-Sections 234 (a), (c) and (d) of said Article and sub-title; to
add Sub-Sections (b), (e) and (f) to said Section 234, to stand in
the place of the Sub-Sections (b), (e) and (f) so repealed; to re-
peal Sub sections (d), (f), and (g) of Section 235 of said Article
and sub title and to enact new Sub sections (d), (f) and (g) in
lieu thereof, to stand in the place of the sub sections so repealed;
and to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub section (c) of
said Section 235, revising the schedules for the compensation of
PEAL SECTION 235 OF SAID ARTICLE AND SUB-TITLE
AND TO ENACT A NEW SECTION 235 IN LIEU THEREOF
TO STAND IN THE PLACE OF THE SECTION SO RE-
PEALED, REVISING THE SCHEDULES FOR THE COMPEN-
SATION OF supervisors of assessments in the counties of this
State, the Director of the Department of Assessments in Baltimore
City, THE SUPERVISOR OF ASSESSMENTS OF BALTIMORE
CITY, and the several assessors of various categories working
thereunder, repealing certain local laws concerning such compensa-
tion, revising the formula for the division of the cost of such
compensation as between the State and the several political sub-
divisions, REVISING THE SCHEDULE OF POSITIONS FOR
PERSONS WORKING AS ASSISTANTS TO THE SEVERAL
SUPERVISORS OF ASSESSMENTS AND THE DIRECTOR OF
THE DEPARTMENT OF ASSESSMENTS IN BALTIMORE
CITY, and relating generally to the compensation and work of
assessors throughout the State, including the supervisors of assess-
ments in the counties and the Director of the Department of Assess-
ments in Baltimore City.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sub-Sections (b), (e), (f), (g), (h) and (i) of Section 234 of
Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition and
1956 Supplement), title "Revenue and Taxes", sub-title "State- Tax
Commission", be and they are hereby repealed; that Sub-Sections
234 (a), (c) and (d) of said Article and sub-title be and they are
hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments; that Sub-Sections
(b), (e) and (f) be and they are hereby added to said Section 234, to
stand in the place of the Sub-Sections (b), (e) and (f) so repealed;
