SEC. 9. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, THAT THIS ACT
SHALL TAKE EFFECT ON JUNE 1, 1957.

CHAPTER 501
(Senate Bill 578)

AN ACT to add Section 10A to Article 78 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1956 Supplement), title "Public Service Commission
Law", sub-title "Secretary", to follow immediately after Section
10 thereof, relating to the destruction of obsolete records of the
Public Service Commission of Maryland.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 10A be and it is hereby added to Article 78 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1956 Supplement), title "Public
Service Commission Law", sub-title "Secretary", to follow immedi-
ately after Section 10 thereof, and to read as follows:

10A. (Destruction of Records). The Secretary may, with the
approval of the Commission and in conformity with the procedure
presently prescribed by Section 153 of Article 41 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1951 Edition) and by Section 154 of said Article
41 (1956 Supplement), or as such procedure may hereafter be
changed, amended or modified, destroy any records or documents in
the possession of the Commission, including any records of documents
required by law to be filed with the Commission, which have been
maintained on file for not less than three (3) years and which he
may deem obsolete and of no further use in carrying out the powers
and duties of the Commission.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

of Sedition 84 of Article 78 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
