exhibition shall be subject to all provisions of law relating to licen-
sing and censorship applicable to motion picture exhibitions on week
days. The work or employment of any operator, ticket seller or any
other employees or attendants in connection with any such exhibition
of motion pictures shall not be unlawful because performed on Sun-
days. Any exhibition of motion pictures on Sundays, except as hereby
authorized, shall be unlawful and subject to the provisions and penal-
ties of said Sections 578 and 605 of this Article.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That all laws and parts of
laws, whether public general or public local laws, inconsistent with
the provisions of this Act, be and the same are hereby repealed with
respect to any exhibition authorized by Section 608B as enacted by
Section 1 hereof, to the extent of any such inconsistency.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby de-
clared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public health or safety, and being passed upon a
yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all members elected to
each of the two Houses of the General Assembly, the same shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 572 of
Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition),
title "Crimes and Punishments", sub-title "Rivers", to clarify the
provision of said section allowing riparian owners of land in this
state bordering on the navigable rivers, creeks or branches of this

state to dig, dredge, take and carry away sand, gravel or other

material from the be of said river TO LIMIT THE PROVISION
OF SAID SECTION PERMITTING THE DIGGING, DREDG-
ING, TAKING AND CARRYING AWAY OF SAND, GRAVEL
OR OTHER MATERIALS FROM THE BED OF NAVIGABLE
RIVERS, CREEKS OR BRANCHES OF THIS STATE TO
RIPARIAN OWNERS' OF LANDS IN THE STATE OF MARY-
LAND BORDERING ON SAID RIVERS, CREEKS OR
BRANCHES, OR TO ANY PERSON OR CORPORATION WITH
WHOM SUCH OWNER SHALL HAVE A CONTRACT IN
WRITING WITHOUT AFFECTING PENDING LITIGATION
ON THE SUBJECT; AND TO GIVE TO THE BOARD OF PUB-
LIC WORKS THE POWER TO GRANT FOR AN ADEQUATE
CONSIDERATION OF MONEY THE RIGHT TO REMOVE
SAND, GRAVEL OR OTHER MATERIALS FROM CERTAIN
PORTIONS OF THE BED OF SAID RIVERS, CREEKS OR
BRANCHES WHERE NO RIPARIAN OWNER HAS A RIGHT
TO REMOVE THE SAND. GRAVEL OR OTHER MATERIALS.
