an additional sum not exceeding $50.00 per month upon application
to the County Commissioners; and said Commissioners shall annually
levy an amount sufficient to pay such additional benefits. Provided,
that the sum granted to any applicant by the said County Commis-
sioners shall be such that when added to whatever any such person is
receiving as retirement pay under other laws, the total shall not
exceed One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($150.00) per month.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

(House Bill 134)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 1A of
Article 93 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1956 Supplement),
title "Testamentary Law", sub-title "Account", removing there-
from the provision for orphans' court approval upon a certificate
that property has been properly transferred on assessment records.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 1A of Article 93 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1956 Supplement), title "Testamentary Law", sub-title "Account",
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:
1A. Certificate that property has been properly transferred on
assessment records.
Before the orphans' court shall pass the first administration ac-
count rendered by an administrator or executor of the estate of any
person who died owning a fee simple absolute interest in real estate
in Baltimore City or in the county in which letters of administration
or letters testamentary have been issued, and before any will (or
copy thereof) probated elsewhere than in Baltimore City or in the
county in which any real estate devised by said will is located shall
be recorded in the office of the register of wills, the orphans' court
shall require the administrator or executor to first file for record
among the records of the register of wills a certificate [approved by
the orphans' court and] signed by the supervisors of assessments or
some other duly authorized official charged with the responsibility of
maintaining assessment records of Baltimore City or of the county
in which said real estate is located, certifying that the property has
been properly transferred on the assessment records of Baltimore
City or of that county.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.
