CHAPTER 480
(Senate Bill 455)
AN ACT to declare the sanction and consent of the General As-
sembly of Maryland to sundry gifts, bequests and devises con-
tained in the Last Wills and Testaments of certain persons, de-
ceased, and also to certain gifts, grants, sales, leases and deeds
made by various persons to and for the use and benefit of sundry
ministerial persons, religious corporations, vestries, educational
and charitable institutions, churches, denominations or sects here-
inafter named.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the sanction and consent of the said General Assembly of
Maryland be and the same is hereby declared, given and granted to
the following gifts, bequests, devises, grants, sales, leases, convey-
ances and deeds, to and from certain persons and bodies corporate
to and for the use of certain ministerial persons, religious and edu-
cational corporations, orders, denominations and sects, and to cer-
tain charitable institutions hereinafter named and hereinafter set
forth:
1. To the devise and bequest contained in the Last Will and
Testament of Mary G. Alcock to the Wardens and Vestry of Mount
Calvary Church, Baltimore, dated May 20, 1899, and duly admitted
to probate in the Orphans' Court of Baltimore City and recorded in
Liber S. R. M. No. 85, folio 157.
2. For the acquisition of Lot 7 and those parts of Lots 6, 8 and
9 of Block 20, Plat 1 of Roland Park, which were described in a Deed
to the Vestry of St. David's Protestant Episcopal Church, dated
September 30th, 1942, and recorded among the Land Records of Bal-
timore City in Liber M. L. P. 6375, folio 353.
3. To the acquisition of property known as 3113 Kentucky Ave-
nue, Baltimore, Maryland, acquired by The Vestry of St. Johns
Church. Huntingdon, Baltimore County, by deed dated June 15,
1956 and recorded among the Land Records of Baltimore City in
Liber M. L. P. 10149, folio 46, from Francis F. Lynch and Vernon
Barlag, Trustees, under the 18th item of the Last Will and Testa-
ment of Grace W. Sweeny.
4. To the conveyance to the First Christian Church of Hagers-
town, Maryland, of all those lots situate on the west side of Potomac
Avenue in Hagerstown, Washington County, Maryland, known as
designated as Lots Nos. 9 to 13, inclusive, on the plat of Country
Club Heights, duly recorded among the Plat Records in the office of
the clerk of the Circuit Court for Washington County, Maryland, at
folio 149 and being also the same lots known as designated as Lots
Nos. 9A, 9B, 10A, 10B, 11A, 11B, 12A, 12B, 13A and 13B as shown
on a supplemental plat of said Country Club Heights, duly recorded
among the aforesaid Plat Records at folio 214. This deed is dated
