CHAPTER 57
(House Bill 56)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 168 (b) of
Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition),
title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Appeals", clarifying the
wording and punctuation of this section without changing its
substance.
Whereas, In Section 168 (b) of Article 2B of the Code, there is
provision made for the application of Section 168, which concerns
appeals to the State Appeal Board under the Alcoholic Beverages
Laws; and
Whereas, The punctuation and wording of this section have become
garbled and should be corrected in order to improve the grammatical
construction of the Code; now, therefore
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 168 (b) of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1951 Edition), title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Appeals",
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:
168.
(b) This section shall be applicable in Dorchester [,] and Wicom-
ico Counties, and in the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, seventh and
eighth election districts of Anne Arundel County.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

CHAPTER 58
(House Bill 70)
AN ACT to add Section 629 A to Article 27 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Crimes and Punishments", sub-
title "Crimes and Punishments", sub-heading "Telegraphs and
Telephones", said new section to follow immediately after Section
629 thereof, relating to the crime of wilful refusal to yield a tele-
phone party line and relating to the printing of such crime in
certain listings of telephone subscribers in this State. PHONE
PARTY LINE, SPECIFYING THE NOTICE OF THIS LAW
TO BE CONTAINED IN CERTAIN TELEPHONE DIREC-
TORIES AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR A VIOLATION
OF THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ACT.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 27 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title, "Crimes and
