AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 289 of
the Charter and Public Local Laws of Baltimore City (1949
Edition), being Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, title "Baltimore City", sub-title "Orphans' Court", as
said section was amended by Chapter 731 of the Acts of 1953 and
by Chapter 245 of the Acts of 1955, relating to the maximum and
minimum salary which may be paid to the Bailiff of the Orphans'
Court of Baltimore City.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 289 of the Charter and Public Local Laws of Baltimore
City (1949 Edition), being Article 4 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Baltimore City", sub-title "Orphans' Court",
as said section was amended by Chapter 731 of the Acts of 1953, be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, and to
read as follows:
289. The Bailiff of the said Orphans' Court of Baltimore City
shall receive a salary of not less than [$3,675] ($4,500.00) nor more
than [$4,750.] $5,250.00 per annum, payable in monthly installments
at the end of each and every month by the Mayor and City Council
of Baltimore, said salary to be determined and certified to by the
Judges of the Orphans' Court of Baltimore City.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957. JANUARY 1, 1958.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 55 of
Article 19 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "St. Mary's County", sub-title "County Commis-
sioners", as amended by Chapter 392 of the Acts of 1949, increas-
ing the maximum compensation of the clerk to the County Com-
missioners.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 55 of Article 19 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "St. Mary's County", sub-title "Coun-
ty Commissioners", as amended by Chapter 392 of the Acts of 1949,
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:
