3 (b-1) to said Article and sub-title (1951 Edition and 1956 Sup-
plement), to follow immediately after Section 3 (b) thereof, re-
lating to the compensation to be paid to the members of and to
the Counsel to the Board of Supervisors of Elections of Baltimore
County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 3 (a) of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1956 Supplement), title "Elections", sub-title "Election Officials",
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendment, and
that Section 3 (b-1) be and it is hereby added to said Article and
sub-title (1951 Edition and 1956 Supplement), to follow immediately
after Section 3 (b) thereof, and all to read as follows:

3. Salaries and expenses of supervisors of elections, (a) Salaries.
—Each supervisor of elections appointed under Section 1 (a) or
Section 1 (c) of this article shall receive an annual salary as follows:
In Allegany County, $1,080; in Anne Arundel County, $800; in
Baltimore City, $3,190 until January 1, 1950, and thereafter $5,000;
[in Baltimore County, $3,000;] in Calvert County, $200; in Caroline
County, $300; in Carroll County, $400; in Cecil County, $300; in
in Charles County, $250; in Dorchester County, $400; in Frederick
County, $480; in Garrett County, $300; in Harford County, $400;
in Howard County, $400; in Kent County, $400; in Montgomery
County, $1,200; in Prince George's County, $1,000; in Queen Anne's
County, $300; in St. Mary's County, $250; in Somerset County, $500;
in Talbot County, $300; in Washington County, $600; in Wicomico
County, $600; in Worcester County, $500.

3 (b-1) In Baltimore County, the chairman of the Board of Super-
visors of Elections shall receive such annual compensation as may be
included in the county budget from time to time but, in no event,
to be less than $4,000 per annum. The associate members of the
Board shall receive such annual compensation as may be included
in the county budget from time to time.
BUT, IN NO EVENT, TO
BE LESS THAN $3,000 PER ANNUM. The counsel to the Board
shall receive such annual compensation as may be included in the
county budget from time to time but, in no event, to be less than
$2,000 per annum.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.
