482                               Laws of Maryland                        [Ch. 375

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 364B be and it is hereby added to Article 10 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Dor-
chester County", sub-title "Licenses", said new section to follow im-
mediately after Section 364A thereof, said section having been last
amended by Chapter 210 of the Acts of 1953, and to read as follows:

364B. It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to carry on
the business of or to practice the craft of palmistry, fortune telling,
spiritualism, clairvoyance and phrenology or the like, within Dor-
chester County, State of Maryland, unless each and every such per-
son or persons shall first obtain from the clerk of the Circuit Court
for Dorchester County, Maryland, a license or licenses to carry on
such business or practice such craft in said county, for which they
shall pay to the clerk of said court the sum of One Thousand Dollars
($1,000.00) for each year or a fraction thereof, for the use of the
said Dorchester County and they shall pay to the clerk of said court
a further sum of Fifty Cents (50c) as his fee for issuing same, such
license to be issued in the name of the person or persons applying, and
to be issued to run from the first day of May of the year in which
issued, to and including the 30th day of April in the succeeding year.

(b) Any person violating the provisions of this section shall be
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof, shall be
fined not less than One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) nor more than
Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for each and every offense, and
if said fine and court costs are not paid, he shall be confined in the
county jail for sixty days or until such fine and court costs are paid,
whichever occurs first

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

CHAPTER 375
(Senate Bill 10)

AN ACT to add new Section 263A to Article 66C of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1951 Edition) title "Natural Resources", sub-
title "Fish and Fisheries", sub-heading "Part 2. Tidal Waters", to
follow immediately after Section 263 thereof, permitting and
regulating the taking or shooting of carp in tidal waters of this
State by bow and arrow.
