Sub-section 40 (j-1) thereof, to Article 10 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1951 Edition and 1956 Supplement), title "Attorneys
at Law and Attorneys in Fact", sub-title "State's Attorney", relat-
ing to the salary of the State's Attorney of Frederick County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sub-section 40 (g) be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted
with amendments, and Sub-section 40 (j-2) be and it is hereby added,
to follow immediately after Sub-section 40 (j-1) thereof, to Article
10 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition and 1956 Sup-
plement) , title "Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact", sub-title
"State's Attorney", and all to read as follows:
40.
(g) Dorchester [and Frederick Counties] County—The State's
attorney [s] of Dorchester [and Frederick Counties] County shall
[each] receive an annual salary of $3,600.

(j-2) The State's Attorney of Frederick County shall receive an
annual salary of $5,000.
Sec 2. And be it further enacted. That this section shall not be
construed to extend or apply to the State's Attorney in office on the
effective date hereof, but shall take effect with the next term of office.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 184 of
Article 10 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Dorchester County", sub-title "Taxes", said section
having been amended by Chapter 828 of the Acts of 1943 and
Chapter 901 of the Acts of 1945 relating to the compensation paid
the Deputy Treasurer and Clerks in the office of the Treasurer in
Dorchester County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 184 of Article 10 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Dorchester County", sub-title
"Taxes", said section having been amended by Chapter 828 of the
Acts of 1943 and Chapter 901 of the Acts of 1945, be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
184. The Treasurer, subject to the consent of the County Commis-
sioners shall appoint an assistant to aid him in the discharge of the
duties of his office as he may direct, said assistant to be known as
