"Trial Magistrates System", increasing the annual salaries of the
Judges of The People's Court For Montgomery County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That sub-section (15) (1) of Section 100 of Article 52 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1956 Supplement), title "Justices of the
Peace", sub-title "Trial Magistrates System", be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
100.
(15) Montgomery County—(1) There shall be three full-time
judges of the People's Court of Montgomery County [each of whom
shall receive a salary of $10,000 per year]. The Chief Judge of said
Court shall receive a salary of $13,500 per year and each of the two
associate judges thereof shall receive a salary of $13,000 per year.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted. That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

AN ACT to add new sub-sections (15) (1-a) and (15) (1-b) to Sec-
tion 100 of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1956
Supplement), title "Justices of the Peace," sub-title "Trial Magis-
trates System," said new sub-sections to follow immediately after
sub-section (15) thereof, providing for pension plan for Judges of
the People's Court for Montgomery County and for the widows of
said judges, subject to certain conditions, limitations and excep-
tions and relating generally to said pension plan.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new sub-section (15) (1-a) and (15) (1-b) be and they are
hereby added to Section 100 of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1956 Supplement), title "Justices of the Peace," sub-title
"Trial Magistrates System," said new sub-sections to follow im-
mediately after sub-section (15) thereof, all to read as follows:
(1-a) Every FULL-TIME judge of the People's Court for Mont-
gomery County shall be paid, after the termination of active service,
if he is then at least sixty-five years of age, or when he becomes sixty-
five years of age, a pension or salary calculated at the rate of four
hundred dollars ($400.00) per annum for each year, or any part there-
of, of active service, up to and including twelve years of such active
service, so that the maximum pension or salary for such service pay-
able hereunder to any one person shall not exceed the sum of four
