SHALL THE provisions of this sub-title apply to physicians or sur-
geons residing on the borders of a neighboring State, and duly au-
thorized under the laws thereof to practice medicine or surgery there-
in, whose practice extends into the limits of this State; provided, that
such practitioners shall not open an office or appoint places to meet
their patients or receive calls within the limits of this State without
complying with the provisions of this sub-title; provided, that the
same privileges be accorded to licensed physicians of this State; pro-
vided, further, that nothing in this sub-title shall annul any of the
provisions of Article 32, title, "Dentistry," nor shall apply to any
registered graduate of dental surgery now practicing in the said
State of Maryland, with the sign title: Dentist, surgeon dentist,
dental surgeon or stomatologist; and provided, further, that nothing
herein contained shall be so construed as to prevent or in any way
make unlawful or interfere with the sale by manufacturing, whole-
sale or retail druggists, or any person dealing in drugs or medicines
of any proprietary or patent medicine or any official or standard drug
or medicine.; PROVIDED FURTHER, THAT NOTHING HEREIN
CONTAINED SHALL BE CONSTRUED TO REPEAL OR IN ANY
MANNER AFFECT THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 139 OF
THIS ARTICLE, RELATING TO CERTAIN CHRISTIAN SCI-
ENCE PRACTITIONERS.
141. It shall be the duty of the secretary-treasurer of [either or
both of said state boards] the Board of Medical Examiners to inquire
into all violations of law under this Article and to institute all pro-
ceedings or prosecutions thereof, and all expenses incurred by any
secretary-treasurer [of either of such boards] hereunder shall be
allowed and paid out of the funds acquired by or belonging to [said
boards respectively] the Board.
142. The said Board of Medical Examiners shall [have full control
over the expenditures and disposition of the funds collected from the
fees and charges authorized to be made under the terms of this
sub-title, and shall] fix and allow such compensation as they may
deem proper for service rendered in the performance of the duties
required by this sub-title by members of said Board or others, with
the full power also to allow and discharge all proper expenses of
said Board [, and any surplus, to dispose of as said board may deem
for the advantage of the practice of medicine in this State].
143. Any person practicing or attempting to practice medicine
under the name of any other person, whether that person be a resi-
dent of this State or not, or whether he or she be deceased or not,
or any person acting under the name of and as agent of any other
person, in the capacity of a practitioner of medicine or surgery, shall
be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction by any court having
criminal jurisdiction shall be punished by [imprisonment in the city
or county jail for not less than thirty days or more than one year,
or by a fine of not less than Twenty Dollars nor more than Five
Hundred Dollars,] a fine of not less than One Hundred Dollars nor
more than Five Thousand Dollars or by confinement in the House
of Correction for not less than one nor more than three years, or
both, in the discretion of the court, for each offense.
144. [Either] The Board of Medical Examiners of this State may,
by a vote of five members, revoke any license which [it] has been
