super-annuated members of the police force of Baltimore City, and
for the relief of widows and children of policemen who are members
of the Special fund for Widows or who may be killed in the discharge
of duty, whenever the Special Fund or the Special Fund for Widows
of said Police Commissioner is not sufficient for the payments au-
thorized by and under the Acts of the General Assembly heretofore
passed.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

(House Bill 260)
AN ACT to add new Section 303A to Article 66½ of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1951 Edition and 1956 Supplement), title
"Motor Vehicles," sub-title "Operation of Vehicles Upon High-
ways," said new section to follow immediately after Section 303
thereof, providing for the reimbursement of forfeited bond or
collateral by the State Treasurer to a defendant if the forfeiture
is stricken out by the justice of the peace or trial magistrate, pro-
vided further that the defendant is found not guilty, or if he is
found guilty, his fine is less than the forfeiture.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 303A be and it is hereby added to Article 66½ of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition and 1956 Supple-
ment) , title "Motor Vehicles," sub-title "Operation of Vehicles Upon
Highways," said new section to follow immediately after Section 303
thereof, and to read as follows:
303A. The State Treasurer shall reimburse to a defendant out of
the Motor Vehicles Revenue Fund any forfeited bond or collateral,
which has been received by the State Treasurer in accordance with
Section 303 (d) of this Article, after the justice of the peace or trial
"magistrate has stricken out the forfeiture, provided that the de-
fendant is found not guilty of the offense charged. If the defendant
is found guilty of the offense charged, but his fine is less than the
amount of the forfeited bond or collateral, then the State Treasurer
shall reimburse any amount received by him which is in excess of
the fine.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.
