87B. Allowing female dog in heat to run at large in Howard
County.
In Howard County and in Harford County, it shall be unlawful
for the owner or custodian of a female dog while in oestrus or in
a condition commonly known as "in heat" or "in season" to knowingly
allow the same to run at large. Every person violating the provisions
of this section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon
conviction thereof, shall be subject to a fine of not more than twenty-
five dollars.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-sections (c)
and (d) of Section 5 of Article 35 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1956 Supplement), title "Evidence", sub-title "Competency
of Witnesses", providing for the admissibility, in prosecutions for
certain misdemeanors in Montgomery County, of certain evidence
obtained by illegal search or seizure.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sub-sections (c) and (d) of Section 5 of Article 35 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1956 Supplement), title "Evidence", sub-
title "Competency of Witnesses", be and they are hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
5. (c) Exception in certain counties for prosecutions for violating
gambling laws.—Nothing in Sub-section (a) of this section shall
prohibit the use of such evidence in Anne Arundel County, Howard
County, Montgomery County, Prince George's County, Cecil County,
Wicomico County and Worcester County in the prosecution of any
person for a violation of the gambling laws as contained in Sections
303 to 329, inclusive, of Article 27, sub-title "Gaming", or in any
laws amending or supplementing said sub-title., OR IN MONT-
GOMERY COUNTY IN THE PROSECUTION OF ANY PERSON
FOR A VIOLATION OF THE GAMBLING LAW AS CONTAINED
IN SECTION 306 OF SAID ARTICLE, SUB-TITLE "GAMING",
AS AMENDED FROM TIME TO TIME.
(d) Exception in certain counties for prosecutions for violating
lottery laws.—Nothing in Sub-section (a) of this section shall pro-
hibit the use of such evidence in Montgomery, Prince George's, How-
ard, Wicomico, and Worcester Counties in the prosecution of any
person for a violation of the lottery laws as contained in Sections
