Whereas, The Athletic Association owns a tract of land in Annap-
olis on which it plans to build a stadium for the use of the Naval
Academy; and
Whereas, Unless a tax exemption is granted for this property, it
appears that the Athletic Association will have extreme difficulty in
operating the stadium and remaining solvent; now therefore
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 8(43) be and it is hereby added to Article 81 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition and 1956 Supplement),
title "Revenue and Taxes", sub-title "What Shall Be Taxed and
Where", to follow immediately after Section 8(42) thereof, and to
read as follows:
8(43).—Land and the buildings and structures erected thereon in
the City of Annapolis and in Anne Arundel County owned by the
Naval Academy Athletic Association so long as the land, buildings
and structures are used for athletic events and purposes.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1. 1957.

CHAPTER 231
(Senate Bill 452)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 236 of
Article 18 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Queen Anne's County", sub-title "Foxes", relat-
ing to the penalty for violation of the laws relating to foxes in
Queen Anne's County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 236 of Article 18 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Queen Anne's County", sub-title
"Foxes", be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with
amendments, to read as follows:
236. Any person or persons guilty of violating any of the provi-
sions of [this Act] Sections 234 or 235 shall be deemed guilty of a
misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof [before some justice of
the peace of said county] shall pay a fine of ten dollars [, one-half
of which shall go to the informer and the other half into the school
fund of said county, and in default of the payment of said fine shall
be confined in the county jail for a term of not less than five or
more than twenty days].
