656 (j). It shall be unlawful to take or catch oysters by dredge in
that portion of the waters of Calvert County in the Patuxent River
lying northerly and upstream from the mouth of the tributary stream
known variously as Caney Creek or Craney Creek, RUNNING
PARALLEL TO THE PATUXENT RIVER BRIDGE, such stream
being approximately one-fourth of a mile northerly and upstream
from the Patuxent River Bridge between Calvert and Charles Coun-
ties. This prohibition shall apply only within the period from Decem-
ber 1 in any year to January 15 in the following year, both dates
inclusive.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

CHAPTER 186
(House Bill 437)
AN ACT to add a section to be known as Sub-section C of Section
1578 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's County
of 1953 and a similar sub-section to be known as Sub-section C of
Section 74-43 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Montgomery
County of 1955, said section providing for a penalty for the non
payment of water bills and sewer usage charges after 30 days.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That there is hereby added a sub-section to be known as Sub-section C
of Section 1578 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's
County of 1953 and a similar sub-section to be known as Sub-sec-
tion C of Section 74-43 of the Public Local Laws of Montgomery
County of 1955, said sub-section to read as follows:
(c) From and after June 1, 1957, if any bill for water and sewer
usage charges sent out in regular course by the Washington Suburban
Sanitary Commission shall remain unpaid after 30 days from the
date of sending a late payment penalty of ten per centum (10%) of
such unpaid charges shall be added to the said bill and shall be col-
lected as a part of such bill; such penalty being in addition to and
not in substitution for or derogation of any other right or remedy
heretofore or hereafter granted to the Commission by any other law.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.
