CHAPTER 158
Senate Bill 340)

AN ACT to add new Section 77C to Article 14 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Howard County",
sub-title "County Commissioners", said new section to follow
immediately after Section 77B thereof, said section having been
enacted by Chapter 291 of the Acts of 1945, authorizing the
County Commissioners to provide generally for the licensing of
persons, firms or corporations offering merchandise for sale
through coin-operated vending machines.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 77C be and it is hereby added to Article 14 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Howard County", sub-title "County Commissioners", said new Sec-
tion to follow immediately after Section 77B thereof, said section
having been enacted by Chapter 291 of the Acts of 1945, and to read
as follows:

77C. The County Commissioners of Howard County are hereby
authorized to provide for the licensing of each person, firm or corpo-
ration selling or offering for sale through coin-operated vending ma-
chines any article or goods of merchandise, to establish the license
fees and to prescribe regulations for the issuance of said licenses.
The said Commissioners are further authorized to provide a metal
tag or stamp to be applied to such vending machines upon the pay-
ment of the license fee and to prescribe criminal penalties for any
person, firm or corporation maintaining or operating such vending
machines without a license.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

CHAPTER 159

(Senate Bill 341)

AN ACT to add new Section 183 to Article 18 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Queen Anne's
County", sub-title "County Commissioners", to follow immediate-
ly after Section 182 thereof, said Section 183 having been repealed
by Chapter 302 of the Acts of 1955, relating to the President and
Vice-President of the County Commissioners of Queen Anne's
County and their duties and powers.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 183 be and it is hereby added to Article 18 of the
