To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:

I, Claude B. Hellman, Secretary of State of the State of
Maryland, pursuant to the direction contained in Section 210 of
Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition) DO
hereby certify, That at an election held in the City of Pocomoke,
Worcester County, Maryland on April 2, 1957, an Act known as
Chapter 76 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1955,
was submitted to the voters of Pocomoke City, Worcester County,
for their adoption or rejection under the provisions of Chapter 76 of
the Acts of 1955, said Act being as follows:

"An Act to repeal and reenact with amendments Section 219 of
Article 24 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, (1930
Edition) title "Worcester County", sub-title "Pocomoke City",
increasing the maximum limit on the rate at which property
taxes may be imposed by the municipal corporation of Poco-
moke City pursuant to the provisions of Article HE of the
Constitution of Maryland."

and I DO certify, that at said election 49 votes were cast in
favor of the adoption of Chapter 76 of the Acts of the General As-
sembly of 1955 and 406 votes were cast against the adoption of said
Chapter 76, and a majority of the votes being cast against the adop-
tion of Chapter 76 of the Acts of 1955, the said Act has therefore
failed of ratification.

In Testimony Whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my

(Secretary of Annapolis, this 2nd day of May, 1957.
