(House Joint Resolution 46)

House Joint Resolution expressing appreciation and gratitude to Dr.
Carl N. Everstine and his staff in the Department of Legislative
Reference for services in connection with the 1957 Session of the
General Assembly of Maryland.

Whereas, Dr. Carl N. Everstine, Director of the Department of
Legislative Reference and his entire staff have worked diligently and
unceasingly to provide the members of the General Assembly of
Maryland with advice and assistance in the preparation of legislation;
and

Whereas, Dr. Carl N. Everstine and his entire staff in the per-
formance of their duties have served the present members of the
General Assembly in a manner far beyond that normally required of
public servants; and

Whereas, the splendid service rendered by the entire personnel of
the Department of Legislative Reference has been of immeasurable
benefit and assistance to the members of the General Assembly, in-
dividually and collectively; and their efforts have made for a more
smooth and orderly session than could otherwise have been possible;
now, therefore, be it

Resolved, That the members of the House of Delegates of Maryland
assembled, and the members of the Senate of Maryland, do hereby
express their appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Carl N. Everstine,
his assistants, R. Lee Benson, Jr., Thomas H. Lowe, Mathias De Vito
and Leonard Orman, and his staff in the Department of Legislative
Reference for their excellent and untiring services in connection with
the advice and preparation of legislation proposed and passed by the
1957 Session of the General Assembly of Maryland; and be it further

Resolved, That a copy of this resolution be sealed with the Great
Seal of Maryland and sent to Dr. Carl N. Everstine and each member
of his staff.

office of the State Commissioner of Personnel to have supervision
