Resolved, That the Legislative Council be requested to report the
results of this study, together with any recommendations it may
make, to the General Assembly which convenes in 1958.

(House Joint Resolution 37)
House Joint Resolution requesting the County Commissioners of
Prince George's County to authorize the continuation of the
Prince George's County Industrial Development Committee for
the purpose of further promoting the industrial potentialities of
said County and providing for an appropriation for certain
expenses.
Whereas, by Joint Resolution No. 17, of the General Assembly
of Maryland, 1955 Session, the County Commissioners of Prince
George's County, Maryland, were authorized to appoint a committee
of citizens to study and promote industrial potentialities of said
County; and
Whereas, pursuant to said resolution the said County Commis-
sioners did appoint a committee of eleven members; and
WHEREAS, THE SAID COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MAY IN
THEIR DISCRETION DESIRE TO INCREASE THE MEMBER.
SHIP OF THIS COMMITTEE; AND
Whereas, the committee has organized, appointed sub-committees,
met many times and has established an office, appointed an Execu-
tive Director, made studies of many factors entering into the con-
sideration of the establishment of industries, assembled and analyzed
data pertinent to the industrial potential of the County, prepared and
submitted various reports, prepared, published and circulated a
promotional brochure and formulated plans for future activities,
all toward the accomplishment of the purposes of said Committee; and
Whereas, it is expected that many tangible results will flow from
the efforts of the committee; and
Whereas, it is even more than ever to the interest of said County
to encourage the development of industry therein; now, therefore, be
it
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the County
Commissioners of Prince George's County be and they hereby are
requested to authorize the eleven members of the Industrial Develop-
ment Committee appointed under Joint Resolution No. 17, 1955
