SUB-COMMITTEE CONSISTING OF NOT LESS THAN ELEVEN
MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY to study and evaluate
all phases of the supply, propagation, migratory habits and potentiali-
ties of rockfish now caught in Maryland waters; and be it further
Resolved, That the Governor LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF
MARYLAND be requested to place on this committee INSTRUCT
THIS SUB-COMMITTEE TO CONSULT WITH experts in the field
of aquatic life, persons who are qualified by education and experience
and who will study and report in a nonpartisan and objective manner
on the rockfish industry; and be it further
Resolved, That among the agencies and resources which might be
utilized by such commission, the General Assembly would suggest
the Chesapeake Biological Institute, the Department of Interior and
the Maryland Department of Research and Education; and be it
further
Resolved, That this committee, when appointed, be requested
promptly to organize and to submit a report to the General Assembly
if possible, prior to the 1958 session. AN INTERIM REPORT TO
THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL BY OCTOBER 1957.

(House Joint Resolution 25)
House Joint Resolution requesting the State Roads Commission of
Maryland to extend the so-called Twelve-Year Road Program for
three additional years.
Whereas, In 1953 the General Assembly of Maryland passed the
Twelve-Year Program of construction and reconstruction of the
Maryland State Highway System, and
Whereas, The State Roads Commission of Maryland is currently
constructing and reconstructing the State Highway System in ac-
cordance with that program, and
Whereas, The 84th Congress of the United States during its 2nd
session in 1956 enacted, and the President of the United States signed
into law, the Federal-Aid Highway Act of 1956 under the provisions
of which the Federal Government is to grant certain financial aid
to the several states for improvement of the Interstate System of
Highways during the 13-year period next succeeding the passage
of said bill, and
Whereas, It appears desirable that the Twelve-Year Highway
Program of the State of Maryland be continued for three years in
order that the Federal Interstate Program and the State Twelve-Year
