Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the State
Roads Commission is directed immediately to re-examine the several
schedules of toll charges applicable to the Susquehanna River Bridge,
the Potomac River Bridge, and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, as well as
those which are presently projected for the Patapsco River Tunnel,
in order to adjust and ameliorate the basic inequity and injustice in
these rates as they apply to particular segments of the population
and of the economic and commercial interests of the State; and be it
further
Resolved, That the State Roads Commission be directed to complete
this study on or before March 1, 1957, in order that proper adjust-
ments may be made well in advance of the opening of the Patapsco
River Tunnel; and be it further
Resolved, That the State Roads Commission be directed to notify
the presiding officers of the two Houses of the General Assembly of
the results of their re-survey including the new schedules of fees
which they adopt in order to cure the very unsound conditions which
now prevail and so seriously burden some of our people.

Joint Resolution requesting the Civil Aeronautics Board and the Con-
gress of the United States to give consideration to the value of
Friendship International Airport as part of the airfield system
serving the National Capital.
Whereas, A great volume of airborne traffic proceeds daily to
and from the metropolitan area of the District of Columbia; and
Whereas, It is highly important in the public welfare that the
many hundreds of people desiring daily to go to and from the Nation's
Capital should have quick, uninterrupted and safe airport facilities
for their convenience and economy; and
Whereas, For many years the facilities of National Airport,
which is closely adjacent to the City of Washington, have been taxed
to their utmost in order to handle the great volume of traffic begin-
ning and ending in the Nation's Capital; and
Whereas, While search has been made for several years for an-
other airfield which could handle some of the heavy volume of traffic
and thereby relieve the pressure upon National Airport, singularly
little attention has been given to the great capacities and splendid
location of Friendship International Airport in nearby Maryland; and
