"County Commissioners", sub-title "County Treasurer", authoriz-
ing an increase in the salary of the County Treasurer of Somerset
County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 47 (q) of Article 25 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1951 Edition), title "County Commissioners", sub-title "County
Treasurer", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:
47.
(q) The County Treasurer of Somerset County shall receive an
annual salary of not less than [$3,000.00] $3,600.00 nor more than
[$3,600.00] $4,500.00 $4,200.00 in the discretion of the County
Commissioners.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That nothing in this sub-
section shall effect or change the salary of the incumbent County
Treasurer during his present term.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 573 of
the Charter and Public Local Laws of Baltimore City (1949
Edition), title "Baltimore City", sub-title "Police Commissioner",
sub-heading "Physicians to the Police Force", increasing from
seven to eight the number of physicians that the Police Commis-
sioner for the City of Baltimore is authorized to appoint and com-
mission biennially to act as physicians of the Police Department of
Baltimore City.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 573 of the Charter and Public Local Laws of Baltimore
City (1949 Edition), title "Baltimore City", sub-title "Police Com-
missioner", sub-heading "Physicians to the Police Force", be and the
same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
573. The said Police Commissioner for the City of Baltimore is
authorized to appoint and commission biennially [seven] eight
physicians of integrity and capacity, residents of Baltimore City,
and who shall have practiced medicine therein for at least three
