of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, said new Section
to be known as Section 699A and to follow immediately after Section
699 of said Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's County,
under the title "Prince George's County", sub-title "Gaming", re-
lating generally to certain mechanical or electrical coin operated
devices or machines; making it unlawful to keep, maintain, set
up, have, possess, operate or manage certain mechanical or elec-
trical coin operated devices or machines at specified places in
Prince George's County under certain conditions when a player
or operator is entitled to or is paid or given cash, a premium,
merchandise or tokens or an award other than free plays; making
it unlawful to have an interest in or be concerned in such devices
or machines under certain conditions or knowingly permitting
such devices or machines in certain places under certain condi-
tions; making it unlawful to pay or give any cash, a premium,
merchandise, token, pay-off or award other than free plays to a
player of such devices or machines under certain conditions; pro-
viding penalties for violations of provisions of said Section and
special provisions for enforcement thereof; providing for seizure,
forfeiture and destruction of such machines and devices and
money, coins and tokens, under certain conditions; providing for
the closing and restriction of use of certain premises by the Cir-
cuit Court under certain conditions; providing special provisions
for prima facie evidentiary proof of violation thereof; relating
generally to certain mechanical or electrical coin operated devices
or machines and the possession, use, operation and management
thereof in specified places in Prince George's County under speci-
fied conditions; and providing further for the repeal of all public
general or public local laws inconsistent with this Act.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new Section be and is hereby added to the Code of Public
LOCAL Laws of Prince George's County (Everstine 1953 Edition),
being Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, said
new Section to be known as Section 699A and to follow immediately
after Section 699 of said Code of Public Local Laws of Prince
George's County under the title "Prince George's County", sub-title
"Gaming", to read as follows:

699A. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, it shall be
unlawful for any person at any place of business or other place open
to the public generally or at any Club, in Prince George's County,
to keep{ maintain, set up, have, possess, operate or manage, any
mechanical or electrical coin operated device or machine, which is
operated by means of the insertion of a coin, token or similar object,
whether the same be commonly known as a "pinball machine" or
"console machine" or any other machine requiring the insertion of a
coin, token or similar object for its operation, and which, based in
whole or in part upon chance or skill, entitles the person playing or
operating such device or machine to receive cash, a premium, mer-
chandise or tokens or offers an award other than free plays to the
player, or by reason of the obtaining of certain scores or combina-
tions of numbers from the operation thereof there is paid or given to
the player any cash, a premium, merchandise, token or award; and, it
shall be unlawful for any person, at any place of business or other
place open to the public generally or at any Club, in Prince George's
County, to have an interest in or be concerned as owner, lessor, lessee,
