AN ACT to add new Section 328A to the Code of Public Local Laws
of Anne Arundel County (1947 Edition, being Article 2 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Anne Arundel County",
sub-title "Fire Companies", said new section to follow immediately
after Section 328 thereof, providing for an annual tax on real
and personal property for the purpose of providing Volunteer
Firemen training facilities AND CENTRAL ALARM SYSTEM;
providing an account for such monies; and further providing a
committee to handle such funds and other duties AND relating
GENERALLY thereto.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 328A be and it is hereby added to the Code of
Public Local Laws of Anne Arundel County (1947 Edition, being
Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Anne
Arundel County", sub-title "Fire Companies", said new section to
follow immediately after Section 328 thereof, and to read as follows:
328A. (a) The County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County
are hereby authorized and directed to levy annually a tax equal to
one-half cent (.005) on every $100.00 of the assessed value of all
real or personal property in Anne Arundel County for the purpose
of providing, constructing and maintaining adequate training facili-
ties AND CENTRAL ALARM SYSTEM for the Volunteer Firemen
training facilities for the volunteer firemen within the County; the
assessed value of the property aforesaid to be as of January 1st of
each year.
(b) The County Commissioners shall establish a separate account
to be known as "The Firemen's Training Facility Account". The
tax provided for in Sub-section (a) of this section shall be collected
and accumulated from time to time in said account and shall be
used only for the purposes provided for in this section.
(c) (Firemen's Training Tax Committee.)
(1) There shall be a committee to be known as the "Fireman's
Training Tax Committee", consisting of seven members, one of which
will be the Anne Arundel County Business Manager, one member of
the Board of County Commissioners and five from the Anne Arundel
County Volunteer Firemen's Association, Inc., to be selected respec-
tively by the Commissioners and the Association aforesaid. Of the
members representing the Anne Arundel Volunteer Firemen's Asso-
ciation, Inc., first selected, each shall serve terms of office as follows:
one for one year, one for two years, one for three years one for four
years and one for five years to be redesignated by the Association.
Thereafter, vacancy in this committee from the Anne Arundel
County Volunteer Firemen's Association, Inc., shall be filled for a
term of five years. Vacancies occurring through other than normal
