said section having been enacted by Chapter 503 of the Acts of
1951 and by Chapter 242 of the Acts of 1953, relating generally
to special appropriations and taxing powers of the County Com-
missioners.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 15, 165, 166, 686, 687, 695, 695A, 695B, 807, 808,
533A and 533B of Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Washington County", sub-titles
respectively, "Almshouse", "Library", "Museum of Arts", "Public
Health Association", "Washington County Health Association" and
"Infant and Child Health", said sections having been amended or
enacted respectively, by Chapter 653 of the Acts of 1943, by Chapter
396 of 1955, by Chapter 503 of 1943, by Chapter 117 of 1939, by
Chapter 71 of 1937 and by Chapter 395 of 1937, be and they are here-
by repealed; and that Chapter 685 of the Laws of 1955 be and it is
hereby repealed; and that new Sections 166B to 166-1, inclusive, be
and they are hereby added to said Article of said Code, said new
sections to follow immediately after Section 166A thereof, said sec-
tion having been enacted by Chapter 503 of the Acts of 1951 and by
Chapter 242 of the Acts of 1953, and all to read as follows:

166B. The County Commissioners of Washington County are
hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with the
"Washington County Free Library", whereby they shall contract to
contribute annually the sum of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000)
per annum for the care and maintenance of the said "Washington
County Free Library". In addition to the above amount, the said
Commissioners are hereby authorized, in their discretion, to appro-
priate and contribute an additional amount not exceeding Forty
Thousand Dollars ($40,000) FIFTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS
($55,000) annually for the care and maintenance of said Library.

166C. The County Commissioners of Washington County are here-
by authorized and empowered to enter into a contract with "The
Washington County Museum of Fine Arts", whereby they shall con-
tract to contribute annually in perpetuity the sum of Five Thousand
Dollars ($5,000) per annum for the care and maintenance of the said
"The Washington County Museum of Fine Arts", and in the event
the facilities of the Museum for the use of the public are increased
by the addition to the present building of one or more wings at a cost
of at least One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000), then and in
that event upon the completion of the said addition, the County Com-
missioners of Washington County are authorized and directed to enter
into a contract with said Museum whereby they shall contract to con-
tribute annually in perpetuity the total sum of Ten Thousand Dollars
($10,000) per annum for the care and maintenance of the said "The
Washington County Museum of Fine Arts".

166D. The County Commissioners of Washington County are here-
by authorized to pay to "The Washington County Public Health Asso-
ciation, Incorporated", to be used by said Association in paying the
salary of the nurse or nurses employed by said Association, such
amounts from time to time as said County Commissioners of Wash'
ington County may in their discretion determine, not, however, to
exceed a total of Fifteen Hundred Dollars ($1,500) in any one year.
