SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 41 of Article 7 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Carroll County", sub-title "County
Commissioners", as said section was repealed and a new section was
enacted in lieu thereof by Chapter 58 of the Acts of 1955, be and it
is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:
41. The County Commissioners of Carroll County shall be
authorized and empowered to borrow from time to time upon the
credit of said county such sum or sums of money as in their discre-
tion may be deemed necessary, provided such loan or loans shall not
exceed a total of [Five Hundred Thousand] One Million Dollars
[ ($500,000.00)] $1,000,000.00 at any one time.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

CHAPTER 100
(Senate Bill 143)
AN ACT to add new Section 131 (m) to Article 66C of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition and 1956 Supplement), title
"Natural Resources", sub-title "Birds, Game and Inland Water
Fish", said new section to follow immediately after Section 131 (1)
thereof, prohibiting the shooting or disturbing of wild life in safety
zones, which said safety zones to be the area within 150 100 yards
of any building used or occupied by humans, without advance per-
mission from the owner or occupant TENANT and providing fur-
ther a penalty for violation thereof.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new Section 131 (m) be and it is hereby added to Article 66C
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition and 1956 Supple-
ment) , title "Natural Resources", sub-title "Birds, Game and Inland
Water Fish", said new section to follow immediately after Section
131 (1) thereof, and to read as follows:
181 (m) Prohibiting Shooting or Disturbing Wildlife in Safety
Zones.—It is unlawful at any time for any person, other than the
owner or occupant, while hunting or trapping for wild birds or wild
animals of any kind, to shoot or discharge any firearm or other deadly
weapon within one hundred and fifty yards of any occupied dwelling
house, residence, or other building or camp occupied by human beings,
or any barn, stable, or other building used in connection therewith,
the area within said distance being hereby defined as a "safety zone",
