ENTITLED TO BE CERTIFIED WITHOUT EXAMINATION IF
HE CAN ESTABLISH TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE
BOARD, PRIOR TO DECEMBER 31, 1957, THAT HE HAS RE-
CEIVED BY EXPERIENCE OR OTHERWISE THE SUBSTAN-
TIAL EQUIVALENT OF THE REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION
588 OF THIS SUB-TITLE.
591. Reciprocity. The Board may, upon application therefor
and payment of the certification fee, certify as a psychologist any
person who is licensed or certified as a psychologist by any other
state, territory or possession if the requirements for such license or
certification are the substantial equivalent of the requirements of
this sub-title.
592. Exemptions. Nothing in this sub-title shall be construed
to limit (1) The activities, services and use of official title on the
part of a person in the employ of a federal, state, county or municipal
agency, or of other political subdivisions, or a duly chartered educa-
tional or charitable institution insofar as such activities and services
are a part of the duties of his office or position with such agency or
institution; or
(2) The activities and services of a student, interne or resident
in psychology, pursuing a course of study acceptable to the Board
as qualifying training and experience under the terms of the sub-
title, if these activities and services constitute a part of his super-
vised course of study; or
(3) The activities and services of a person who performs psycho-
logical services under the direct supervision of a certified psychol-
ogist and for whose activities and services the certified psychologist
assumes full responsibility if the person SUPERVISED has received
the doctoral MASTER'S degree based upon a program of studies
whose content was primarily psychological from an educational insti-
tution having an accredited graduate program, or its substantial
equivalent in both subject matter and extent of training; or
(4) The activities and services of a person who has recently be-
come a resident of the State and has had his application for certifi-
cation with or without examination received by the Board, pending
disposition of his application.
593. Certificates—-Expiration—Renewal.
(a) The Board shall issue a certificate of certification to each
person whom it registers as a psychologist. The certificate shall show
the full name of the psychologist, his address, date of issuance and
expiration, and bear a serial number. The certificate shall be signed
by the Chairman and Secretary of the Board under the seal of the
Board.
(b) Certificates of certification expire on March 31 following
their issuance or renewal and are invalid thereafter unless renewed.
(c) The Board shall notify every person certified under this sub-
title of the date of expiration of his certificate of certification and the
amount of the renewal fee. This notice shall be mailed at least one
month before the expiration of the certificate. Renewal may be made
