CITY and relating generally thereto AND PROVIDING FOR
THE IMPOSITION OF ADDITIONAL LICENSE FEES BY
SAID COUNTIES AND BALTIMORE CITY.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sub-section 5 of Section 18A of Article 56 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), (1956 SUPPLEMENT), title
"Licenses", sub-title "Pinball Machines", as enacted by Chapter 715
of the Laws of the General Assembly of 1955, be repealed and re-
enacted with amendments to read as follows:
(5) The provisions of this sub-title shall only apply to Dorchester
[and] Talbot , BALTIMORE and Harford Counties. AND BALTI-
MORE CITY.
(A) PROVIDED THAT IN BALTIMORE CITY SAID LI-
CENSES SHALL BE ISSUED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COUNCIL OF BALTIMORE CITY UNDER THE AUTHORITY
OF CHAPTER 27 OF THE ACTS OF 1951 AND ORDINANCES
ADOPTED PURSUANT THERETO.
(B) IN BALTIMORE CITY AND IN BALTIMORE AND HAR-
FORD COUNTIES ADDITIONAL LICENSE FEES MAY BE IM-
POSED BY SAID CITY OR COUNTIES, WHICH ADDITIONAL
FEES SHALL BE USED FOR THE BENEFIT OF SAID COUN-
TIES OR CITY ONLY.
SEC. 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, THAT NOTWITH-
STANDING ANY OF THE PROVISIONS OF ANYTHING IN
SECTION 12 OF ARTICLE 56 IT SHALL BE LAWFUL FOR
BALTIMORE CITY, HARFORD AND BALTIMORE COUNTIES
TO IMPOSE ADDITIONAL LICENSE FEES UPON THE OPER-
ATION OF PINBALL MACHINES, AND SECTION 12 OF
ARTICLE 56 IS HEREBY REPEALED TO THE EXTENT THAT
IT IS INCONSISTENT WITH THE PROVISIONS OF SUB-SEC-
TION (5) (A) AND (B) HEREOF.
Sec 2. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.
