authorized to add pertinent matter to the oath or any other ballot
material that may be prescribed by any such Act or Acts, provided,
however, that said Commission shall not take any action which
would conflict with any provision of the Constitution of this State
and shall not provide or prescribe any oath which would not furnish
the information needed to enable any Board to register the affiant
as a qualified voter under the Constitution of this State.
262. Additional Duties of Supervisors. Each Board shall also act
as a Board of Registry, as Judges of Election, and as a Board of
Canvassers, as the case may be, whenever the duties imposed upon
it by this sub-title make it appropriate or require that it so act.
When acting either as a Board of Registry, as Judges of Election, or
as a Board of Canvassers, each Board shall have, possess and exer-
cise all the authority, powers and discretion conferred by law upon
said Boards of Registry, Judges of Election and Boards of Can-
vassers, respectively. The Boards of Supervisors of Elections are
hereby granted the authority to appoint such numbers of temporary
Boards of Registry and such numbers of temporary Judges of Elec-
tions as said Boards may deem necessary to adequately and promptly
carry out the provisions of this sub-title. Each temporary Board of
Registry shall consist of two members, one of whom shall be regis-
tered as a member of the Democratic Party and one of whom shall
be registered as a member of the Republican Party, and each such
Board of Registry is hereby authorized to register Absentee Resi-
dents entitled under this sub-title to registration in the manner
specified in this sub-title for a period of fifteen (15) days prior to
election day, on election day, and for such period of time after
election day as may be necessary to complete the registration of
Absentee Residents entitled to register under this sub-title. The
temporary Judges of Election appointed under this section shall be
divided into groups of four, two of whom shall be registered as
members of the Democratic Party and two of whom shall be regis-
tered as members of the Republican Party, and such groups are
hereby authorized to count and tabulate the ballots of Absentee
Residents cast at any election in the manner and at the time specified
in this sub-title. The duties of the Boards of Registry and tempo-
rary Judges of Elections provided for in this section shall at all
times be conducted under the supervision and control of the respec-
tive Boards of Supervisors of Elections, and, in case of any dispute
as to either the registration of an Absentee Resident or the counting
of his ballot in whole or in part, the Board having jurisdiction shall
determine such dispute, but unless such Board of Supervisors unani-
mously decides that an Absentee Resident is not entitled to register,
such Absentee Resident shall be registered, and unless such Board
of Supervisors shall unanimously decide that a ballot of any Absentee
Resident shall not be counted, said ballot shall be counted. Said
temporary Boards of Registry and temporary Election Judges herein
provided for shall with regard to registration and the counting and
tabulation of Absentee Ballots, respectively, have the same powers
conferred on the Boards of Supervisors of Elections by this sub-
title with regard to such matters, except as otherwise provided in
this section. The compensation of the members of said temporary
Boards of Registry and said temporary Election Judges shall be the
same as that paid Election Judges in the County or Baltimore City
at the same election, as the case may be, and such compensation
