receive an annual salary of [$1,800.] $2,100, and such additional
deputies at such compensation as may be approved by the County
Commissioners of said county.
He shall be allowed [$1,800.] $2,400
$2,100 per year for expenses. The county commissioners of Worcester
County shall grant an expense allowance of [$1,500.] $1,800 per year,
payable monthly, for each [deputy sheriff.] of the two deputy sheriffs
required by this sub-section.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

CHAPTER 723
(House Bill 918)

AN ACT to repeal Sub-sections 202 (e) and (f), and to enact new
Sub-sections 202 (e) and (f) in lieu thereof, to stand in the place
and stead of the sub-sections so repealed, of Article 56 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition and 1956 Supplement),
title "Licenses", sub-title "Dog Licenses in the Counties", amend-
ing generally the dog laws in Allegany County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sub-sections 202 (e) and (f) be and they are hereby repealed,
and new Sub-sections 202 (e) and (f) be and they are hereby enacted
in lieu thereof, to stand in the place and stead of the sub-sections so
repealed, of Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951
Edition and 1956 Supplement), title "Licenses", sub-title "Dog
Licenses in the Counties", to read as follows:

202.

(e) The Board of County Commissioners of Allegany County are
hereby authorized and empowered, in order to safeguard the health,
safety and public welfare of the residents of Allegany County, to
pass rules, regulations or resolutions for the purpose of carrying
out the powers hereinafter granted, provided that such rules, regu-
lations' or resolutions shall contain proper standards for the exercise
of the discretion contained herein, and shall operate uniformly. The
said rules, regulations or resolutions shall provide for the sale of
dog licenses in said county, the keeping of records of all sales, the
designation of persons authorized to sell such licenses, the taking into
custody and disposition of any dogs found running at large within
the limits of Allegany County, with power to delegate by written
contract the enforcement of such rules, regulations or resolutions,
provided, however, in any such contract said Board of County Com-
missioners shall reserve the right to cancel, without notice or recourse,
such delegation for stated cause or on thirty days notice without
