CHAPTER 697
(House Bill 814)
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 7 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Carroll County",
sub-title "County Commissioners", said new section to be known
as Section 45B and to follow immediately after Section 45A there-
of, said section having been enacted by Chapter 694 of the Laws
of 1939, authorizing the County Commissioners of Carroll County
to appoint a county manager.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 7 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Carroll
County", sub-title "County Commissioners", said new section to be
known as Section 45B, to follow immediately after Section 45A
thereof, said section having been enacted by Chapter 694 of the Laws
of 1939, and to read as follows:
45B. The County Commissioners are hereby authorized to appoint
a person to be the County Manager of Carroll County. He shall be a
person properly qualified for the office of County Manager and shall
receive such compensation and have such powers and duties as the
Commissioners shall determine.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

(House Bill 816)
AN ACT relating to the Maryland-National Capital Park and Plan-
ning Commission; to add a new section to the Maryland-Wash-
ington Regional District Act, as enacted by Chapter 992 of the
Laws of Maryland of 1943, and amendments thereto, said new sec-
tion to be known as Section 2-A-(3), the purpose of this Act being
to add to the area included within the Maryland-Washington
Regional District certain areas in Prince George's County not
