Monday of January and July,] the fourth Monday of March and the
second Monday [in] of October in each year.

46. [Juries shall be summoned for the March and October terms
only.] A jury shall be drawn and summoned, according to the mode
prescribed by law for drawing and summoning jurors, to attend, at
the March and October terms of said Court; and the Court, or a Judge
thereof, may require the attendance of the Grand Jury or the Petit
Jury, or both, whenever the business before the Court warrants their
attendance.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

CHAPTER 90
(House Bill 251)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 15-2 of
Chapter 15 of the Montgomery County Code (1955 Edition), title
"Jail and Prisoners", sub-title "Prisoners—Work on County Roads,
etc." so as to permit the court to require prisoners who are sen-
tenced to a term in jail to perform work on the public roads and
other public property of the County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 15-2 of Chapter 15 of the Montgomery County Code
(1955 Edition), title "Jail and Prisoners", sub-title "Prisoners—
Work on County Roads, etc." is hereby repealed and re-enacted with
amendments to read as follows:

15-2. In addition to any sentence of confinement in the county jail
of the county which may be imposed for failure to pay any fine, or
where such confinement is imposed without a fine, or where such
confinement is imposed in addition to a fine,
by the circuit court,
trial magistrate court, people's court, [for the county,] or any
justice of the peace for the county having criminal jurisdiction, the
court or justice shall also in the sentence direct that any prisoner
over sixteen years of age who may be so sentenced shall be subject
to perform work during the period of his imprisonment in the
county jail or on the public roads or other public property of the
county or on the public roads or other public property of any special
taxing area in the county; provided, that for such work on the public
streets or other public property of a special taxing area, the au-
thorities of the special taxing area shall be charged with the expense
which may attend such employment.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.
