Education, as comprised on June 1, 1951, shall have terms of one,
two, three, four and five years, respectively, as of the first Monday
in May of each year. Thereafter, the Governor shall appoint as of
the first Monday in May of each
year, one person to fill the vacancy
of the [members] member whose term is then expiring, for a full
term of five years, or until his successor is appointed and has quali-
fied.
Nothing in this section shall be construed to prevent the Gov-
ernor from appointing to any Board appointed under the provisions
hereof, any person who may have served on any previous Board of
Education in Allegany County. Except as in this section specified,
the provisions of Section 6 hereinabove shall continue to apply to
the Board of Education of Allegany County.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this act shall take effect

June 1, 1957.

SEC. 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, THAT THIS ACT
IS HEREBY DECLARED TO BE AN EMERGENCY MEASURE
AND NECESSARY FOR THE IMMEDIATE PRESERVATION
OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY, AND HAVING BEEN
PASSED BY A YEA AND NAY VOTE, SUPPORTED BY THREE-
FIFTHS OF ALL THE MEMBERS ELECTED TO EACH OF THE
TWO HOUSES OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND,
THE SAME SHALL TAKE EFFECT FROM THE DATE OF ITS
PASSAGE.

CHAPTER 88
(House Bill 63)

AN ACT to add a new section to Chapter 26 of the Montgomery
County Code (1955 Edition), title "Streets and Roads", sub-title
"In General", said new section to be known as Section 26-22A and
to follow immediately after Section 26-22 thereof, authorizing and
empowering the County Council for Montgomery County to
regulate the movement of vehicles over County roads, with certain
exceptions, and to provide for markings thereon, to designate truck
routes and to prevent the use of certain roads by trucks in Mont-
gomery County, with certain exceptions, and to provide punishment
for violation of regulations enacted in connection therewith.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to Chapter 26 of the
Montgomery County Code (1955 Edition), title "Streets and Roads",
sub-title "In General", said new section to be known as Section 26-
22A, to follow immediately after Section 26-22 thereof, and to read
as follows:
