Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That after the effective date of this Act, the County Council of
Montgomery County and OR the County Commissioners of Prince
George's County, shall pay one-half (½) of the actual cost WITH-
IN THEIR RESPECTIVE COUNTIES that the Washington
Suburban Sanitary Commission may be required to pay for the
relocation or removal of any of its facilities by reason of any road
construction or improvement required by any of the agencies above
set forth. If any of the above agencies require the relocation or the
removal of any of the facilities of said Commission it shall give notice
to said Commission within a reasonable time of its requirements and
upon receipt of which the Commission shall furnish to such agency
an estimate of the cost of such removal or relocation, and upon the
completion of such removal or relocation, shall furnish to such agency
an itemized statement of the actual cost of such removal or relocation,
and unless such agency disputes any one or more of the charges in the
bill rendered by said Commission, it shall pay the same within six
months after its receipt. In the event of any dispute of any charge
made by said Commission, the dispute shall be, within three months
after rendition of the bill, referred to an arbitrator satisfactory to
both the Commission and the agency and if the Commission or said
agency are unable to agree upon an arbitrator each shall appoint one
and the two shall appoint a third. If such bill as rendered or finally
agreed upon is not paid within six months after rendition or agree-
ment, it shall bear six per cent (6%) interest until paid and if a dis-
pute goes to arbitration it shall bear six per cent (6%) interest after
six months from the date of such finding by the arbitrators7 provided,.
however, that the provisions of this Act shall apply, in addition, to

all due, pending or unpaid costs, which have been properly billed to

the said county or counties and which remain unpaid as of the effec-

itve date of this Act.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

(House Bill 659)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 38 (p) of
Article 87 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition and
1956 Supplement), title "Sheriffs", sub-title "Compensation and
Duties", relating to the salary of the Sheriff and the compensation
of his employees in Prince George's County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 38 (p) of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
