Titling", relating generally to destruction of records.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 15 of Article 66½ of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1951 Edition), title "Motor Vehicles", sub-title "Administration-
Registration—Titling", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
15. (Destruction of Records.) The Commissioner may destroy
any records of the Department, which have been maintained on file
for [five (5)] three (3) years, which he may deem obsolete and of
no further service in carrying out the powers and duties of the
department except records of criminal and motor vehicle violations
which show refusal, suspension, revocation and/or cancellation of
license or registration as the result of a conviction. Motor vehicle
registration records and all records in the Financial Responsibility
Division, may be destroyed after three (3) years.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

CHAPTER 606
(House Bill 506)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 276 (n)
of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition),
title "Revenue and Taxes", sub-title "Income Tax", relating to an
exclusion from income for the members of the Armed Forces and
Allied branches by extending said exclusion to members of the
United States Public Health Service Commissioned Officers Corps
and limiting the scope of said exemption.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 276 (n) of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1951 Edition), title "Revenue and Taxes", sub-title "Income
Tax", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:
276 (n). Payments up to Fifteen Hundred Dollars ($1,500.00)
received during each current calendar year as members of the Armed
Forces of the United States and of the United States Maritime
Service, U. S. Merchant Marine Cadet Corps [and the], United
States Merchant Marine, and the United States Public Health Service
Commissioned Officers Corps by residents of this State on active duty
with aforesaid branches of services, in time of war or while in a com-
bat area or zone.
