WHEREAS, it being deemed desirable to eliminate any uncertainty
and confusion as to the legal status of various important measures passed
during the thirty day session, the Governor of Maryland has deemed it
necessary and appropriate to convene a Special or Extraordinary session
of the General Assembly of Maryland.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, THEODORE R. MCKELDIN, GOVERNOR of the State
of Maryland, by virtue of the authority conferred and duly vested in me
by the Constitution of Maryland, do hereby call a Special or Extraordinary
Session of the General Assembly of Maryland, to begin at 10.00 A. M. on
March 13, 1958, at the State Capitol, in the City of Annapolis, State of
Maryland.

Given under my hand and the Great Seal of the State of Maryland,
at the City of Annapolis, this twelfth day of March, in the Year of Our
Lord One Thousand Nine Hundred Fifty-eight.

NOMINATIONS FOR SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE

On motion of Mr. Boone, duly seconded, move the nomination and
election of Mr. Perry 0. Wilkinson of Prince George's County as Speaker
pro-tem.

Motion carried.

Messrs. White and Hess were appointed to escort the Speaker pro-
tem to the Rostrum.

Hon Perry 0. Wilkinson was sworn in by the Chief Clerk as Speaker
Pro-tem under House Rule 49.

Mr. Boone, duly seconded, moved the nomination and election of
Hon. John C. Luber as Speaker of the House of Delegates.

Motion carried.

The Speaker pro-tem administered the oath of office of Speaker
to Hon. John C. Luber.
