CHAP. CXXXVIII.

An Act to make public certain Streets in the City of Annapolis.

Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
streets in the city of Annapolis, commonly called and known by
the names of Cornhill-street and Green-street, be and they are
hereby declared public streets, subject to all the rules, regula-
tions and ordinances, of the corporation of the city of Annapo-
lis, that other public streets are, any usage to the contrary not-
withstanding.

CHAP. CXXXIX.

An Act Supplementary to the act, entitled, An act for the further compensation
of Jurors in Harford County.

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland. That the
mileage allowed to jurors by the act to which this is a supplement,
shall be for coming to, and returning from court, on each day such
juror may attend the court.
2. And be it enacted, That jurors who have attended Harford
county court, since the passage of the act to which this is a supple-
ment, shall be entitled to receive the same mileage as is provided
by this act, and the act to which this is a supplement.

CHAP. CXL.

An Act to authorise the Levy Court of Harford County to levy a sum of money for

the purpose therein mentioned.

Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
levy court of Harford county be and they are hereby authorised and
empowered, to levy upon the assessable property of said county, a
sum of money, in their discretion, not exceeding two hundred dol-
lars, to be applied, or such part thereof as they may deem proper,
to the repairing and rendering comfortable and secure the gaol of
said county. ------

CHAP. CXLI.

An Act relating to the Union Bank of Maryland.

Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the pre-
sident and directors of the Union Bank of Maryland, be authorised
and empowered, and they are hereby authorised and empowered,
to divide the monies already earned and to the credit of profit and
loss of the said institution, in the manner following; one half among
the stockholders, and the other retained towards the contemplated
loss; and that all the future earnings of said bank may be divided,
three-fourths among the stockholders, and one-fourth retained to
meet the said contemplated loss, until the whole shall be made up,
any law to the contrary notwithstanding: Provided, that nothing
herein contained shall have any effect or operation unless the same
shall be approved by the hoard of directors to be chosen at the elec-
tion to be held for directors next after the passage of this law, and
the president and directors thereof shall cause this law to be pub-
lished in the newspapers printed in Baltimore for three weeks next
previous to said election.
