assigned to said Ellen such portion of said trust property, go valu-
ed as aforesaid, as the chancellor or Baltimore county court shall
think a reasonable allowance for the right of dower of said Ellen
in said trust property, which said portion so assigned to said Ellen,
shall be held by her, her heirs and assigns, in full and absolute
right of property, as her and their sole and separate property, free
from all control in and over the same by her said husband, and said
Ellen shall by such decree and order be for ever barred of her said
dower, as if she had released the same in the usual manner.

CHAP. CIII.
An Act to erect a new Bridge over Great Choptank River, in Caroline County.
1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
George Reed, Robert Orrell, John Boon, Andrew Baggs and Seth
Godwin, be and they are hereby appointed commissioners, for the
purpose of building and completing a new bridge over Great Chop-
tank River, at the place where the old one now stands, or any place
between said bridge, and the Granaries belonging to George Reed,
and others, on the side of the river, and the said commissioners, or
a majority of them, are by this act empowered to agree and con-
tract with any person or persons, upon the best and cheapest terms,
to finish and complete the said new bridge.
2. And be it enacted, That the levy court of Caroline county be
and they are hereby authorised and directed, at any time when the
said commissioners deem it expedient, and not before, to assess and
levy, on the assessable property in said county, the sum of four
hundred and fifty dollars current money, together with the usual
commission for collection, to be collected by the collector of said
county, in the same manner as other county charges are collected,
and when collected by the said collector, to be paid to the said com-
missioners, or a majority of them, or to their order, and the said
bridge, when completed, shall be kept up and repaired in the same
manner that other public bridges in said county are by law directed
to be kept up and repaired.
3. And be it enacted, That in case any vacancy shall happen
among the said commissioners, the remaining commissioners shall
have power to fill up such vacancy until the said bridge be finished,
4. And be it enacted, That the said commissioners, or a majori-
ty of them, after the said bridge is finished, shall render to the
justices of the levy court a full and fair account of the expenditures
of the said sum of money, and if any surplus of money shall remain
in the hands of the said commissioners, or any of them, they shall
pay over the same to the justices of the levy court, which shall be
applied towards defraying the public charge of said county.
5. And be it enacted, That the said commissioners are hereby em-
powered and directed to make sale of the materials of the old bridge
on the best terms they possibly can, and make return of the pro-
ceeds thereof to the justices of the levy court, and the same shall
be applied towards defraying the county charges.
