CHAP. 15.

President and di-
rectors authorised

corporated thereby, to commence the turnpike road from the place
where the line of the District of Columbia crosses the main post
road leading from George Town, to Frederick Town be and the
same is hereby repealed.
2. And be it enacted, That the president and managers of the said
company be and they are hereby authorised and empowered, to
commence the said turnpike, road at any point of the District line,
at or near the place it crosses the main post road leading from
George-Town to Frederick-Town.
3. And be it enacted, That in all cases where a jury is summoned
under the provisions of the said act, to assess the damages sustain-
ed by the person or persons, at whose, request such inquisition
shall be taken, by reason of the opening the said road through his,
her or their land, and the persons so summoned, after qualifying
agreeably to the provisions of said act, shall thereupon proceed to
assess and value the damages accordingly, of which the president
and managers of said company, or some one of them respectively,
shall have given at least ten days notice; and such inquisition shall
be final and conclusive between the parties, and in assessing the
damages, the jury shall take into consideration the conveniences
and inconveniencies, the advantages and disadvantages, if any,
arising to the proprietors of the land over which the said road may
pass.
4. And be it enacted, That each and every provision of the said
act, passed at November session eighteen hundred and five, which
may be at variance with the provisions of this supplementary act,
be and the same are hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 16.

A Supplement to the act, entitled, An act for the relief of
Priscilla Nicholls, of Montgomery County.

: Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the judges of Baltimore county court be and they are hereby
required, to value the negro mentioned in the act to which this is
a supplement, and that the amount be assessed and paid to the said
Priscilla Nicholls, according to the provisions of the original act.

CHAPTER 17.
An act for the relief of William Comegys, and his Infant
Children.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the justices of the levy court of Caroline county, shall be, and they
are hereby empowered, annually, if in their discretion they deem it
right and proper, to assess and levy on the assessable property of
said county, a sum of money not exceeding forty dollars, for the
support and maintenance of the said William Comegys, and his
infant children, and that the same be collected annually by the col-
lector of Caroline county, and by him paid to the said William
Comegys, or to his order.
