LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAP. 87.

All lawful acts
hereafter done in
the name of Boyer
to be of effect, &c.

De Sylve, born, or hereafter to be born, shall at all times hereafter
be railed by, and hold and use the surname of Boyer, and be from
henceforth called by the surname of Boyer.
2. And be it enacted, That all securities, promises, contracts,
assurances, deeds, and lawful acts whatsoever, heretofore made or
dune, or hereafter to be made or done, by or to the said John De
Bentelo De Sylve, by the name, of John Wilmer Spencer Boyer, or
heretofore made to, or hereafter to be made or done by or to, the
issue of the said John De Bentelo De Sylve, born, or hereafter to
be born, by the surname of Boyer, shall be of the same force and
effect, and equally avail, to all intents and purposes, as if the name
of John Wilmer Spencer Boyer had been the true and proper name
of the said John De Bentelo De Sylve, and as if the surname of
Boyer had been the true and proper surname of the said John De
Bentelo De Sylve, and of his issue, and of each of them, from their
birth, any law, statute or custom, to the contrary notwithstanding.

CHAPTER 87.

An act to confirm an act relating to Election Districts in the
City of Baltimore.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
an act passed at December session, eighteen hundred and seven-
teen, entitled, An act relating to election districts in the city of
Baltimore, shall be and is hereby confirmed.

CHAPTER 88.

An act to authorise the Judges of the Court of Appeals to
extend the time of their Sessions on the Eastern Shore.
Sec 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the judges of the court of appeals, at their annual June session on
the eastern shore, if they shall find that more than one week is re-
quired to hear, adjudicate, settle and determine, the business of
the said court, are hereby authorised to sit so long as may be ne-
cessary to hear, settle, adjudicate and determine, the business of
the said court.
2. And be it enacted, That in case the session of the court of
appeals on the eastern shore shall be extended so as to interfere
with the time limited and appointed by law for the sitting of the
court of appeals on the western shore, the clerk of the court of
appeals for the western shore shall have power to adjourn the said
court from day to day, until the judges of the court of appeals
shall attend.

CHAPTER 89.

An act to regulate the manner of obtaining and altering Pub-
lic Roads in this State.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That it shall and may be lawful for the several county courts in
this state, upon petition to them, by any person or persons inte-
rested in opening, straightening or shutting up, a public road in
such county, and sufficiently describing in the said petition the road
proposed to be opened, straightened or shut up, to issue a commis-
sion to three commissioners, freeholders in such county, and not
related to any of the parties interested, nor holding lands through
