ascertained, bo apportioned between the city and county of Bal-
timore, and levied, collected and paid over, as other expenses of
the gaol of said county.

CHAPTER 4.

An act to allow William Waller, late Sheriff and Collector
of Somerset County, further time to complete his Collec-
tion.

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
William Waller, late sheriff and collector of Somerset county, be
and he is hereby authorised and empowered, to collect, until the
first day of January one thousand eight hundred and twenty, all
balances due him as sheriff or collector of Somerset county, in the
same manner which he could or might have done within the time
limited by law.
2. Be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of the said William
Waller before he proceeds to execute or distrain the property of
any person or persons for taxes, public dues or officers fees, in vir-
tue of this act, to deliver to such person or persons chargeable
with the same, at least thirty days previous to the levying such
execution or distress, an account, written in words in full length,
of the taxes, public dues or officers fees, demanded of him, her or
thorn, with an affidavit annexed thereto, that he hath not received
any part thereof, nor any tiling in security or satisfaction for the
same, more than credit given, to the best of his knowledge.
3. Be it enacted, That the same William Waller, before he
derives any benefit from or under thin art, shall lodge his collection
books in the clerk's office of Somerset county, to be open for the
inspection of all persons interested therein.

CHAPTER 5.

An act, entitled, An act to authorise and direct the Levy
Court of Charles County to levy the sums therein mention-
ed for the purpose of building a Court-House in the said
County.

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the levy court of Charles county, be and they are hereby au-
thorised and directed, to levy upon the assessable property in said
county, in three annual assessments a sum not exceeding fifteen
thousand dollars, in addition to what has already been assessed, to
build a court-house in the said county, and to order the monies thus
assessed, when collected, to he. paid to the order of the commis-
sioners appointed for that purpose.

CHAPTER 6.

An act for the relief of Nancy Saulsbury, and Mary Sauls-
bury, of Caroline County.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the justices of the levy court of Caroline county, be and they
are hereby authorised and empowered, in their discretion, for each
and every year during the life or lives of Nancy Saulsbury and
Mary Saulsbury, to levy and assess on the assessable property of
