Chap. 64.
Caroline Yeger
declared capable
to take and hold
lands.
|
Yeger, of Frederick county, for any lands situate in this state,
shall have the same force and effect as if the said Charles Yeger
had been a citizen of this state, duly naturalized, at the time of the
making of such deed or deeds.
2. And be it enacted, That Caroline Yeger, the, wife of the said
Charles Yeger, be and she is hereby declared and made capable in
law, to take, have and hold, and to transmit and transfer by de-
scent, devise, or otherwise, any lands situate in this state, in the
same manner as if she were a native citizen of this state.

CHAPTER 65.
An act to exempt from taxation certain plate belonging to
the estate of Colonel George Armistead, deceased.
, Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
all the plate which was presented to the late Colonel George Armis-
tead, by a number of the citizens of Baltimore, as a testimonial
of his services in the defence of that city, be and the same is here-
by for ever hereafter exempted from all taxes, assessments, public
dues, accruing to the state of Maryland, or to the county of Bal-
timore.
2. And be it enacted, That in case any assessment upon the said
plate has been made, the collector, or other proper officer, is here-
by authorised and directed to erase the same from the assessment
books and lists.

CHAPTER 66.
An act to increase the allowance to the Sheriff of Frederick
county, for the keeping of Prisoners and supporting them
in gaol.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
it shall and may be lawful for the sheriff of Frederick county to
ask, demand and receive, for all persons committed to the gaol of
said county, and provided with victuals by the said sheriff, the sum
of twenty-five cents per day for each prisoner, in lieu of the sum
now allowed, to be levied and collected according to law.
2. And be it enacted, That this act shall continue and be in force
for three years from and after the passage hereof.

CHAPTER 67.
An act for the benefit of William Palmer, senior, and others,
of Prince George's county.
Sec, 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the levy court of Prince George's county shall be, and is hereby
authorised, so long as the said court shall see fit, to assess and levy,
annually, on the assessable property of said county, a sum of
money not exceeding thirty dollars for each, for the support of
William Palmer, senior, Zachariah Scott, Rachel Vermillion, Ann
Wood, Elizabeth Wood and Ruth Hinton, and the same shall be
collected and paid over to them, or their order, in the same manner
that other county levies are collected and paid.
