Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland That
in all cases whatsoever, where any subscriber as aforesaid hath been
required by public notice, as directed in the act to which this is a
further supplement, to pay any part of his subscription, and hath
neglected so to do, and in all cases hereafter, when any person up-
on such pubic notice shall refuse or neglect to make such pay-
ment for the space of thirty days, it shall and may be lawful for
the company to institute suit to compel the payment of the whole,
or such part thereof, as shall have been required as aforesaid, in
addition to the costs of suit, and the interest which may have ac-
crued upon the instalments as they may have been respectively
called on.

CHAPTER 89.
An additional supplement to the act, entitled, An act to es-
tablish Pilots and regulate their fees.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
from and alter the passage of this act, there shall be allowed to
the pilots, in addition to the fees now allowed by the supplement
to the act passed at December session eighteen hundred and fif-
teen, entitled, An act to establish pilots and regulate their fees,
the sum of one dollar for each and every foot of water every ves-
sel shall draw, for the months of December, January, February
and March.

CHAPTER 90.
An act authorising Jane Blake, of Kent County, an Alien,
to hold Real Property.
Whereas, Jane Blake, by petition, hath represented to this
general assembly, that she is an alien, but hath resided within the
United States since the year eighteen hundred and eleven; that at
the last September term of Kent county court, she made a decla-
ration of her intention to become a citizen of the United States;
that she is desirous of acquiring a title to real property within this
state immediately, which she cannot do except by the intervention
of the legislature; Therefore,
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the said Jane Blake be and she is hereby authorised and empower-
ed, to acquire and hold, transfer and convey, a title or titles to
real property within this state, by gift, grant, purchase, devise or
descent, as fully and amply as if she was a citizen of the United
States; Provided, that unless the said Jane Blake shall on or before
the first day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and twenty-three, become naturalized according to the
laws of the United States, in such cases made and provided, or
hereafter made and provided, that she, and every and all and every
person or persons claiming under her, shall forfeit all benefit that
she or they might otherwise have derived under and by virtue of
the provisions of this act; Provided always, that if the said Jane
Blake shall die before the said first day of January, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty-three, nothing in
the above proviso contained shall prevent the said Jane Blake from
transmitting, transferring or conveying, a good and legal title of
