CHAPTER 83.
An act for the relief of John Cole, Sheriff of Saint Mary's
County.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the justices of the levy court of Saint Mary's county be and they
are hereby directed and empowered, at their next levy court, to
assess and levy on the assessable property of said county, such
sum of money as they in their judgment may think reasonable, as a
compensation to John Cole, sheriff of said county, for the extra
expense and trouble which he was unavoidably subjected to by
supporting and guarding the criminals at the court of Oyer and
Terminer and General Gaol Delivery, hold at Leonard-Town, in
May last, and that the same be collected by the collector of Saint
Mary's county, and paid over to the said John Cole, or to his order.
CHAPTER 84.
An act for the benefit of Frederick Bowers of Allegany
County.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
Frederick Bowers is hereby authorised and empowered to remove,
import, and bring into this state, from Hampshire county, Virgi-
nia, within twelve months after the passage of this act, two male
negro slaves, one named Jeremiah, aged about eighteen years, and
Henry, aged about sixteen years, and to hold the same as slaves;
Provided, That the said Frederick Bowers register the said ne-
groes within three months after their removal, in the court of Al-
legany county aforesaid; And provided, That the said Frederick
Bowers shall not sell or dispose of the said negroes, or either of
them, within three years from the time of their removal into this
state.

CHAPTER 85.
An act making public a Parcel of Ground at the junction of
Bridge and Harford-streets in the City of Baltimore.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the city commissioners of Baltimore be and they are hereby au-
thorised, upon oath or affirmation, to ascertain and determine the
full and fair value of the lot of ground situated at the junction of
Bridge and Harford-streets in the city of Baltimore, formerly own-
ed by Henry Zeigler, and now by the widow and children of John
Fauselbaugh, deceased, and to return such valuation, together with
the plot of said ground, under their hands and seals, to the regis-
ter's office of said city, there to be kept and preserved as other
public papers; and the said commissioners shall apportion and as-
sess the amount of said valuation upon the owners of property.

said lot of ground, which apportionment shall be by them returned
together with the plot and valuation aforesaid.
