CHAPTER 56.
An additional supplement to the act, entitled, An act for the
relief of the Poor in the Counties of Somerset and Dor-
chester, passed in seventeen hundred and eighty-five, and
the several supplements thereto.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
each of the trustees of the poor of Somerset county for every day
he shall serve in discharge of his duties under the provisions of
the act to which this is a supplement, shall receive the sum of two
dollars, to be levied on the county, and paid to him by the collec-
tor.

CHAPTER 57.
An act authorising Henry Casson, of Talbot County, to re-
move certain Negroes into the State of Maryland.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
Henry Casson be and he is hereby authorised and empowered, at
any time within two years after the passage of this act, to remove
and bring into this state negroes Dido and Louisa, and their issue,
and that the removal of said slaves, and their issue, and bringing
them into the state of Maryland, shall not be deemed or taken, or
in any manner be construed or operate, to entitle them to freedom;
Provided, that the said negroes, when removed agreeably to the
provisions of this act, shall be recorded in the records of Talbot
county court, within six months after their arrival into that county.

CHAPTER 58.
An act to confirm and make valid the acts and proceedings of
William Redding as a Justice of the Peace for Kent County.
Whereas, William Redding of Kent county, was duly commis-
sioned a justice of the peace in and for Kent county, for the follow-
ing years, namely, one thousand eight hundred and fourteen, one
thousand eight, hundred and fifteen, and one thousand eight hun-
dred and sixteen, and did qualify and act as such during the years
aforesaid: And whereas, also believing he was commissioned a jus-
tice of the peace for the county aforesaid for the year one thou-
sand eight hundred and seventeen, did act as such without having
been commissioned, but so soon as he discovered that he was not
commissioned a justice of the peace for the year one thousand eight
hundred and seventeen, did cease to act as such: And whereas
great inconveniencies will be imposed on sundry persons, unless
the acts which have been done, by the said William Redding as a
justice of the peace for Kent county during the year one thousand
eight hundred and seventeen, are confirmed and made valid, There-
fore,
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
all acts and proceedings which have, been done and made by the
said William Redding, during the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and seventeen, as a justice of the peace for Kent
county, shall lie as valid, and shall have the same effect and opera-
tion in law, as if the said William Redding had been duly commis-
sioned and qualified as a justice of the Peace of the state of Mary-
